The Order of the Knights of Rizal proudly announces the successful conferment of knighthood upon two distinguished gentlemen during a Special Knighting Ceremony held on 25 April 2026 at the Philippine Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands.
In a solemn and dignified ceremony, Mr. Max Manalo and Mr. Romel Silverio were formally dubbed as Knights of Rizal, each receiving the rank of Knight of Rizal (KR). With this honor, they were officially inducted into the Knights of Rizal Amsterdam Chapter, under the leadership of Chapter Commander Sir Mark Andrew Hernandez, KCR.
The knighting rites were officiated by Sir Alexander Onia, KGOR, Supreme Council Archivist and Overseas Representative, together with Sir Johnny Villa, KGOR, Regional Commander for Europe, who jointly presided over the ceremonial proceedings with dignity and adherence to the traditions of the Order. The event was graciously hosted at the Philippine Embassy in The Hague and attended by an esteemed assembly of Knights and distinguished officials from across the European region.
Among those present were Sir Lino Paras, KGCR, Pro Patria Awardee and Overall Adviser for the Europe Region; Sir Jim Rebong, KGOR, European Regional Deputy Commander; Sir Geert Verhagen, KGOR, Area Commander for Belgium; Sir Anton Lutter, KCR, Area Commander for the Netherlands; Sir Chris Sta. Brigida-Kopp, KCR, Deputy Area Commander for the Netherlands; and Minister Sir Jarie Osias, KCR, Chargé d’Affaires of the Philippine Embassy in The Hague.
The ceremony underscored the enduring commitment of the Order of the Knights of Rizal to uphold and promote the ideals and teachings of the Philippines’ national hero, Dr. José Rizal. The induction of Sir Max Manalo, KR, and Sir Romel Silverio, KR, marks a significant addition to the ranks of men dedicated to the principles of patriotism, civic virtue, and cultural heritage.
The Knights of Rizal Amsterdam Chapter warmly welcomes its newest members and looks forward to their active participation in advancing the mission and vision of the Order within the Netherlands and beyond.
